A Quick Look at Sony’s Newest Camcorders

Filed under: Business — John @ 2:49 pm

Released early last year, Sony’s HDR-CX100 is a low-end high-definition camcorder which is filled with traits such as 8GB internal flash memory or optional Memory Stick Pro DUO memory card, 10x optical zoom, a 1/5″ Exmor™ CMOS image sensor with ClearVid™ array, Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® lens with SteadyShot™ image stabilization, face detection, Smile Shutter, manual focus, exposure and white balance adjustments and much more. Sony’s novel gadget also has a 2.7″ touchscreen LCD display and comes in 3 colors – silver, black or red. In spite of being more cumbersome and stocky than its fellow camcorders, the Sony HDR-CX100 is very responsive and starts up in a jiffy. This Sony camera gives high quality video at a relatively inexpensive price tag.

The Sony HDR-CX500V is a high-definition camcorder primed with capabilities like a 12mp still image capture, back-illuminated 1/2.88″ “Exmor R” CMOS image sensor with ClearVid™ array, Professional-quality Sony® G Lens, Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilization with Active Mode and 3-Way Shake Canceling, 12X Optical, 150X Digital Zoom, 32GB flash memory and geotagging. Offering such a huge feature-pack together with a small price tag, it is hard to pass over on this excellent performing release.

The Sony HDR-CX520V comprises highlights alike to that of the Sony HDR-CX500V except it has double the flash memory. With these two very much the same pieces of kit amongst rivals, videographers are spoilt for choice.
